Essential oils remove oil-based paint,
and are much easier on the skin.
And let us not forget THIS little bastard!
I buy pure citronella oil, and cut it by half with the cheapest carrier oil I have handy.
He will fly right past you.

A while back, I got on a kick of recreating essential oil blends that closely match popular scents on the market--
mostly because, when I wore nothing but patchouli, everywhere I went, people either wanted to kiss me or KILL ME--USUALLY THE LATTER. :) I began to look up some options that might be more palatable for the general populus. Please also note that I have NO IDEA what most of these commercial fragrances actually smell like. I looked up their makeup online. :) Without getting too into the science of fragrance chemistry (and it is quite a chemistry of which I am no expert!), here are some of my recipes: |
Update on that PATCHOULI issue. Having recently started a new job, I have learned that patchouli has a particular scent that HATERS can DETECT, even if the blend only contains 6%!! (This would be why I nicknamed it "b**** repellent." :) ) If you'd rather not risk being clawed to death, please note that the "Beautiful" blend, and the "Chanel" blends contain NO patchouli. I personally like the Chanel one better, and no one has yet tried to kill me for wearing it.. :)
