Cushaw Pie

Filling
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 quart cushaw, canned or frozen
  • 1 tsp each allspice, cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger--TASTE--I believe I used more cinnamon & allspice.
  • 1/4 cup vegan butter
  • 1 TB vanilla extract
    Cook to desired consistency

    Crust
    (half cuccidati dough recipe)
    Brown the crust at 350 for about 10 minutes before adding filling, to prevent sogginess.

    Sprinkle top with 2 tsp unrefined or brown sugar to brown, at 400 for about 5-10 minutes.
