TEMPEH REUBEN
Based on: Christina Cooks

  • 1 block tempeh ( about 250g )
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce ( or tamari )
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon maple syrup ( or other liquid sweetener of choice )
  • 1 teaspoon marmite or vegemite
  • 1 teaspoon liquid smoke
  • 1 tablespoon avocado oil

    Slice tempeh into 6 pieces, and each piece to half thickness; marinate at least 20 minutes, then fry in avocado oil, about 5 min each side.

    Toast sandwich bread and vegan swiss cheese

    Top with thousand Island Dressing and Bubbies Sauerkraut


    THOUSAND ISLAND Dressing:

    1 cup vegan mayo

    1/3 cup organic ketchup

    3 tablespoons relish

    1/2 tsp each onion & garlic powder

    Should make about 1.5 cups
