Sweet Potato and Lima Bean Tagine

2/3 cup dried white beans = 2 cups cooked
1 3-in piece of kombu
.5 tsp salt
2 c veg broth
1 cup onion
large pinch saffron
2 tb olive oil
1 tb fresh ginger
2 lb sweet pot
1 tsp agave
1/4 tsp cinnamon
white pepper
1/4 c cilantro garnish
makes 8 cups
